(ID 1039939)
Clumsy is ONE GUY, who writes crazy-good experimental folkish stuff, plays all the instruments on the record, and uses wild sound effects as though they were always instruments.

13 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Political, POP: Quirky

Details:
Clumsy. Remember it: Clumsy. That's the name of the artist, and of his new solo album, and you gotta hear it. It's an old-school folk album, writingwise, but not like you're used to.

See, he's a percussionist by training, but always got hired to play bass, but always played guitar and sang and wrote, and always wanted to do one of those played-everything-on-it records. Still with me?

Anyhow. The resulting album both reveres and mocks the academic and folk traditions from which he arises. He's one of those inscrutable characters whose songs make people laugh and cry at the same time. Or at least sneeze.

His new record, Clumsy, is both a love letter, and a thesis, which examines home, love, regret, hope, and finding peace amidst chaos.

It may also be the only record you'll ever hear which melds a kazoo solo, a sermon from 1931, tibetan throat-singing, didjeridu, a rainstorm, a crowbar, garbage cans, a kids' chorus, a marching section, jingle-bells, and a barking dog, against a background of allegedly singer-songwriter guitar songs.
