Making It in the Music Business-It's a Little Thing to a Gargantuan Hip-Hop Artist Sees Only Sunny Skies with New CD No More Rain

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee- native and hip-hop artist 5ive Ft. Gargantuan will release his new album, titled No More Rain, in which this street poet again adds a freshness to hip-hop by fusing the hard-hitting words of thug life with the beauty of jazz melodies and demonstrating many different styles of hip-hop, form Twista to Scarface to Tupac.

"This album will put 5ive Ft. Gargantuan and Knoxville on the hip-hop map, much like Nelly did with St. Louis," says Greg "Perez" Moore, 5ive's personal assistant.

But 5ive hasn't spent all of his time working on No More Rain. His song " Bad Boys" is included on the Half Past Dead soundtrack, a movie starring Steven Seagal and Ja Rule, and he collaborates on R&B singer MoJaye's new album, "Holla," along with such musicians as E-40, The Outlawz, and Dewayne Wiggins of Tony, Toni, Tone. He has also worked with many well-known hip -hop musicians including Bone, Thugs 'n Harmony, Goody Mob, Jade, Ms. Toi, who sang a duet with Ice Cube, and Eminim's backup singer Deana Ray.

"There is a force driving me to do this- a lot of people wouldn't understand. I don't look at the hard times as negative because that will make me negative. Instead I've got to switch it around, to make me stronger, to give me more motivation, to make my dreams come true. The hard times keep me going-I use it as fuel."

5ive Ft. had the gift of poetry at a young age. As a 13-year old at Vine Middle School, 5ive found the way to express his hard-knock life by writing, recording, and performing a new genre of music, hip-hop. By the time he entered his 11th grade year at Austin East, 5ive felt he could no longer put his dreams of being an entertainer on hold. He spent all the money he had on a worn-out Buick Regal, stole a tank of gas and "didn't stop until (he) hit Atlanta." With no more money and only one friend in Atlanta, 5ive spent nights in his Regal and knocked on every door in the music business during the day. After about a month, he knew he had what it took to make it, but
needed to regroup and make some money so he could live in something other than his car. "I left Atlanta knowing that I would go back - I just needed a better plan."

During this time, his mother died, and 5ive was forced to deal with the toughest break in his life. He soon turned his grieving into a renewed motivation to follow his dreams and puts the rest of the grieving process into his lyric writing.

5ive returned to East Knoxville and traveled back and forth to Atlanta and finally settled there for about three years. During this time, he hosted a local video show that featured many of the popular black music artist of the time. He even got a chance to showcase his own talents on
the show, which led to an invitation from the members of Bone, Thugs'n Harmony to record with them in California.. He hoped that this time in California would give him his break into the music business - it did, but not the way he had planned. He got the chance to record on several songs for Bone, Thugs 'n Harmony, Flesh 'n Bone, and Jade, but he did not get the chance to work on his own music - he was always recording for someone else's album.

He returned to Atlanta and soon receive another invitation to travel back to California, this time from an independent recording label, Gotcha Bakk. Two years later, he still had not finished his first solo project and was frustrated with the label.

So last June, he left Gotcha Bakk records and California to return to the dirty South. 5ive felt he had knowledge and skills from the more than 10 years in the business to start his own label. He formed Feva Entertainment, and with the help from a Knoxville legendary producer known as Mi$ta Enz he has completed his new CD, No More Rain, Now on Sale!
