Born in Jacksonville, Florida, C.J. Bell is a recording and performing artist who demonstrated a desire for artistic expression and public performance from a very early age. She grew up dancing with a touring ballet company. In her teens, her penchant for writing poetry led to songwriting and performing with various local bands in Jacksonville, Chicago, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and finally New York City. Her influences cover a full spectrum. Just to name a few: Simon and Garfunkel, Led Zeppelin, Styx, Journey, Foreigner, Hank Williams, John Lee Hooker, Barbara Streisand, Janis Joplin, Ella Fitzgerald, Loretta Lynn, and Cher.
Having honed her style in the New York music scene, C.J. took her act to Europe where she recruited a band of international musicians and toured Scandinavia and Germany. Landing back in the U.S., she continued to explore new avenues for her naturally positive, universally appealing singing and songwriting abilities.
Following her heart, C.J. focused on acoustic guitar and the lyrical expression through which she has developed her emotionally honest style of uplifting musical expression. Her debut CD entitled "Almost Letting Go", is a collection of introspective songs which chronicle experiences of growth thru relationships common to all.
