charlie is a childrenâs rock musician and arts educator who is sponsored by both the Ontario Arts Council and the Toronto Arts Council. He is known throughout Ontario for his unique Interactive Concert Jams. Having toured Ontario extensively, charlie has performed at such events as Torontoâs Word on the Street, Vaughan Festival of the Arts, Taste of the Kingsway, Junction Arts Festival, Sudburyâs Summerfest, Celebrate Toronto Festival, to name just a few. In the July 2004 issue of Toronto CITY Parent, Deanne Fisher wrote that charlieâs "songs themselves are infused with audience participation and come across as natural and spontaneous."
In October 2005, charlie performed his Halloween Jam 2 in Sudbury, ON (2 shows) and Winter Jam 1 in Bowmanville, ON in February 2006. He conducted workshops with students in local schools in advance of the Jam and the students then accompanied him on stage at the concert. For the week leading up to the concert, charlieâs song âYour Face Was Made For Halloweenâ was one of the top 10 requested songs on CKLU 96.7, Sudburyâs Alternative Radio Station. CTV News and Rogers Daytime aired a clip of charlie conducting a workshop and also interviewed him with regards to his music. Northern Life newspaper, The Sudbury Star and Clarington âThis Weekâ also covered this unique workshop/concert concept.
charlieâs distinctive appeal as a rock artist and educator has gained him much praise from children, parents, teachers, and the media. Gloria DiChiara, Events Co-ordinator for Indigo Books and Music at Trinity Common Mall in Brampton, ON states: âWhat struck me each time that charlie performed was how the atmosphere became electrically charged and markedly tangible with positive, uplifting energy... At each performance he immediately captured the audiences attention using his great sense of humour, pleasant singing voice and compelling environmental messages.â
