Chris McLeodâs passion and calling has been music since the early years of his life. He was involved in choirs and musical theatre since the day he left the womb. In high school, he was in pop/punk band Real Moxy and acoustic projects Citra and Mcullerâs Crossing. He was the worship leader of Harvest Church in Raleigh, North Carolina for a year before he left for Tulsa Oklahoma to attend Oral Roberts University to pursue a degree in music. His first band at ORU, Unlisted, went through many line up changes and after a year the band went their separate ways. Shortly after this breakup, Asher Burton was born, thus Chrisâ voice and songwriting ability was able to shine. This acoustic duo consisted primarily of Chris McLeod and Matt Chinworth. Other temporary band members included James Usher and Joe Morin of Edison and producer Matt Ruckel. Matt and Chris parted ways after a year and a half and Chris is now continuing his pursuit of songwriting and musical creativity on his own. The style of Chrisâ music can be compared to the likes of John Mayer, Dashboard Confessional, Elliot Smith, Pedro the Lion, and Damien Rice. His songwriting is influenced by the likes of Counting Crows, U2, Ben Folds, Ben Gibbard (Postal, Death Cab) and Bjork. Chris has a Bachelors Degree in Music Technology, and wants to eventually make his way in the recording industry as a recording engineer and producer. Chrisâ uses his songs as a creative outlet as well as an opportunity to impact the open listener with music that reaches to the deepest places of the spirit and brings healing to the wounded and broken hearted. Chris McLeod released his first full length album independently. It was produced by Chris McLeod and Matthew Ruckel.
