Details:
This album was originally recoreded in 1988, and features the late, great, Rick Danko on the title track, along with the great Buddy Cage (Blood on the Tracks) playing peddle steel guitar. Paul Geremia, an old friend of Tony's, plays great blues harp on a couple of the tunes. Although Paul is primarily known for his incredible acoustic blues guitar playing, you won't believe him on harp on these cuts. He sounds great! When the album came out, it was in vinyl and cassette only, though it was mastered for CD. The finished mastered product just sat there for the last 17 yrs., and has just been released for sale on CD. Everyone that has heard it agrees that the mastering for CD brought out things that weren't heard on the vinyl or cassette. The CD features 6 original songs written by lead guitarist Tony Medeiros, as well as 4 classic blues tunes. Tony traveled and worked a lot of gigs with Rick in the 80's and 90's, and was really happy to have this album come out in CD format. "Rick sounded great on this. He was such a talented musician. It was great to have him singing one the original tunes, and working with him, but most of all, just having him for a friend. What a great guy, and oh, so missed." If you want to hear some great R & B, with lyrics saying more than "My Baby Left Me", here you go, The Chili Brother's, Empty Bottles.
