Details:
Born in the middle of Michigan, Chris grew up listening to Laurie Anderson and Paul Simon. He vividly remembers being very afraid of Laurie Anderson after hearing her song "The Day the Devil Comes to Get You." He also remembers listening to Graceland on every single roadtrip.

Chris took piano lessons for many years but still cannot read sheet music. In fact he used to memorize the songs and then play them for his piano teacher, pretending that he could read the music. He got away with this for six years.

In eighth grade Chris took up the guitar after his sister began taking Classical guitar lessons. He immediately began writing music and wrote his first song- an angsty teen song about revenge and retribution. He frightened his aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives at a Thanksgiving dinner where his parents insisted that he play. There was silence, followed by weak applause and forced accolades.

Last year Chris bought a banjo and is trying to learn, although he only knows a few chords. He is currently looking for an accordion so that he can finally rock out. He has been trying to use the fact that he is a high school teacher to get people to donate instruments to him. It has not been working. Chris finally made this album on his laptop and is currently working on a new album about language, communication, and politics.
