A singer/songwriter from the UK with an understanding for what it takes to make a great acoustic/pop/rock record, 21-year-old Chris Townsend crafts songs that fans of acoustic based pop/rock can enjoy. As Chris explains, "I want to make music that I would want to hear, so its got to have bits of all the things I love..."

Chris began writing songs when he was about 8 or 9 having had piano lessons since the age of 7. But his real interest in writing and performing music only arrived later in his teens when bored at home in summer '03 he picked up his dad's classical guitar and taught himself the chords to some Beatles songs.

By late 2004 he'd started performing locally becoming a regular at local bars. The summer of '05 became a massive turning point as Chris wrote and recorded a demo EP "Fading to Grey". The songs explored the classic themes of love, life, loss and regret but with an added originality derived from Chris's use of effects pedals, creating drumbeats, bass lines and lead riffs live onstage around my acoustic guitar and vocals.

Since playing his first full solo show in October '05 supporting "The Feeling", (you may have heard of them!) Chris has been working endlessly to pursue his dream and has played shows across the UK culminating in a summer tour and a newly recorded EP entitled "What Are You Waiting For".
