The new album, "Now That The Money's Gone", is a collection of 12 songs written by Joe Benedett and recorded with some of the music industry's top players. Jim Crichton produced it. Jim is well known as the bassist for the popular Canadian band, "Saga".
The record features Denny Seiwell on drums. Denny is the original drummer for Paul McCartney and Wings and played on many #1 hits. he has also worked with artists such as James Brown, Billy Joel, and the band to name a few. Davey Faragher handled the bass guitar. Davey is known from his work with the group Cracker, John Hiatt, Vonda Shepard, and Elvis Costello.
Sal Godinez played keyboards. He has worked with artists such as Willie Nelson, Don Ho and Al DiMeola. George Quirin played lead guitar and is well known in his hometown of Santa Barbara as one of the towns to players. Arno Lucas plays percussion. he is known for his work with Al Jerreau, George Duke, and Jackson Browne to name a very few. Scott Shiflett guested on lead guitar on stroke. He is the bassist with the band face to face.
Philip Bardowell sings background vocals. He has been doing background vocals for The Beach Boys for the past seven years. He also toured with The Peter Criss Band. he currently plays with his own band. Marcella Quirin sings background vocals. she has worked as a session singer for artists such as Kenny Loggins. Michael Sadler sings background vocals on follow. He is the lead singer for the band, Saga.
Darrin Ginsberg was executive producer of the project.
In July 2001, recording began the new record. "Now That The Money's Gone", with Jim Crichton producing. Jim and Joe put together the right combination of musicians and created a great sounding new collection of some cool tunes.
Joe is currently writing new songs and looking forward to performing live here in Maui, Hawaii.
