Details:
Jo Ann Smith plays the autoharp in ways that will forever change your thinking about this instrument and its role in traditional music. Her broad range of styles, exquisite arrangements and drop-dead technical abilities are a delight to experience.

Known for her use of non-standard chords and lush single-key arrangements, Jo Ann is a much sought-after performer and workshop instructor. Her easy-going demeanor and can-do approach make her a favorite of workshop attendees and audiences alike. She performs regularly, both as a soloist and as a member of the acoustic band, Pocket Change.

âRhythm of the Rainâ is Jo Annâs first CD. It was listed among the top 70 albums for the month of February 2005 on the FolkDJ-L website. The first cut from this album ââ¬" Amazing Grace ââ¬" was included in volume 20 of the Acoustic Rainbow Radio Sampler and is receiving airplay both in the US and abroad. Her performance on the WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour in Lexington, KY in November 2004 has been called a watershed event for the autoharp community.

Having won both the International (Winfield) Autoharp Championship in 1999 and the Mountain Laurel Championship in 2003, Jo Ann is sure to surprise and delight you with her 37-string prowess. Youâll never see an autoharp the same way again.
