Details:
There are few superlatives to describe the sheer multifaceted artistry & vocal magic of Jonny Fair. He is keenly aware of and relaxed with his audience and surroundings. His dynamic range, phrasing and explosive style are unmatched and his rich and resonating warm vocals are entrancing. Simply put, Jonny's voice lifts up and sings! His soaring raw power and driving force can suddenly and smoothly transition into soothing, sensitive tones with a vast array of alluring vocal shadings and colors that provides the listener with Jonny's own unique style of sensual tease and tantalizingly seductive foreplay. His enchanting presence captivates a crowd, keeping it spell bound and hog tied, truly few are his equal. Jonny's song writing prowess is clearly evident as well, encompassing a broad creative spectrum of vast and compelling meaning. He is sensitive to a piece and its subtleties, its tenor, its tones and style. Whether it be a fun and infectious finger-popping, toe tapping tune or one that is deeply haunting, subdued and sad. Jonny's remarkable interpretation and rendering of a song captures its essence and instantly lends to it genuine credence and class that he translates so exquisitely well from stage to disc. But don't take my word for it, listen for yourself, If you haven't heard him before, you'll soon agree. Thus becoming part of Jonny's rapidly swelling number of fans. I've been so fortunate in my lifetime to have had such close, personal relationships with and represented friends and clients Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan, Sammy Davis Jr., Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Lionnel Hampton, Billy Eckstein, Dorothy Dandridge, Tommy Dorsey and Perry Como. I've seen many, many stars born and 'The Sender of Song' Jonny Fair, Mr. Xtrordinaire is without a doubt destined for greatness. -Jules Fox, author of "The Melody Lingers On... Well first of all, i could listen to Jonny Fair sing day & night and NEVER grow tired of him. Sure its just my opinion, but for my ear, he is the greatest singer i have ever heard. At least as far as his tone, style & how his spirit speaks to mine. When i listen to him, without fail, my hair stands up on my neck & arms & i litteraly get chills! ive never had that happen to me with any other singer before. Of course it doesnt hurt that he is a TOTAL hottie either! Very handsome in my book is this man, have you seen his pictures?!?! Yowza! i would just love to find him on tv or video or in movies because i know i wouldnt be alone with wanting this man in the WORST way, haha!! Ok, ok, back to the voice of Mr. Xtrordinaire as he is aptly refered to (his band is The Xtrordinaires). When Jonny sings something sad? It is devestatingly sad. Conversely, he has a way of conveying any mood he needs to when telling his stories through song, whatever that emotion tends to be, so obviously a very deep kinda guy. Oh, & im not a fan at all of the harmonica but then ive never heard it played like Jonny plays it. i cant explain it exactly but it doesnt really sound like the tin-like, weak & trill instrument that i just hate! His harmonica is more like his voice; warm, sweet, broad, haunting & very beautiful! Also, in some parts of the album, resonatingly full & in others, so vulnerable & fragile, if that makes any sense? Dont know much about him as there seems to be very little information out there about his life. And the few bits & pieces I have found, seem to be very contradictory with plenty of loose & dead ends. Can anyone help me with some more info please? Is he dead or still living? If living, his age? Birthplace? Married, single, divorced, kids? Oh well, his mystery only adds to the lush, bittersweet darkness of this album. Hence the title, One Dark Day...
