Details:
From Jamaica to the United States, âdeejayâ Johnny Lemon the reggae-rapper proclaims positive words of wisdom that dance off his tongue. His music encompasses classic reggae with smooth, melodic R&B hooks that cause Lemon's crowds to squeeze together and groove to the beat in his jams.
Now getting his message out through steady radio airplay, many can hear the elements of his music - a compilation of where his life has taken him.
Johnny Lemon began his career at the age of 12 in Jamaica, where he worked with the likes of Papa San and Lt. Stitchie on a small sound system called Supersonic sound. Born Leonard Percival Mitchell on April 4, 1962, in Kingston, Jamaica, he later moved to the city of Ewarton where he performed beside Beenie man, Little Kirk (now a part of the Shocking Vibes Crew), Santa, and Neilly The Horseman on a nightly basis. This multi-talented artist grew up comfortably in Spanish Town Jamaica while becoming a prominent and skilled athlete, excelling particularly in soccer as he played for the Black Lion Football Team.
Having to make a choice between music or soccer,
Johnny pursued his athletic gift first and dedicated a career to professional soccer, an endeavor in which he was very successful for several years.
In 1995, when he arrived in the United States, Johnny met his beautiful wife, Beverly. He converted from a Rastafarian lifestyle to born-again Christian and Johnny Lemon, the reggae ârapper, was born too.
With eight children of his own, Johnny recognized the influence of music on todayâs society, so he sharpened his talent for music and took a stand to record affirmation.
Now, Johnnyâs songs seek to promote positive change in the minds of individuals, especially the younger generations. Through his love of life, Johnny spreads good will through his socially conscious lyrics.
Johnny Lemonâs new album will be released on Upliftment Records, an independent label. Heâll be collaborating with two of his label-mates artists, T.C. and Pressure, for some of the tracks on the upcoming release
