The foremost sampler put out by Abstrakt Reality is a collection of Los Angeles talent.
DJ Rylo and Tony Watson are very sucessful local DJ/ producers. Rylo's traces are more of the observational hip hop / Drum & bass genre (Her Body ,always on a mission and space bass). Tony's traces lean more toward the lo fi low-down jungle as well as a quiet mellow track to start the sampler off (Racetraces , sitting in the back seat and run out mornings). Their mixture of Jungle, laid back groove and observational hip hop brings life to the electronic movement.
Atrium is Nicolle Ross and Zimar. Nicolle's rich textured voice adds a warm yet vibrant layer to Zimar's laid back trip hop, digital jazz style traces (Freefalling and Wall). While the only full vocal traces on the sampler, they are the ones that really grab you emontionally.Nicolle and Zimar share equal tasks as writers and producers in the group Atrium.
Zimar brings to the sampler intelligent drum & bass (one of those days) observational digital funk (Ghia pronounced guy ya) as well as a laid back melodic track (let her know). Zimar's trumpet is a new edition to electronic music with a Miles Davis tone add a new level of ambiance.
