About Jackscrew
Jackscrew is so huge it has spawned a whole new genre in rock: Neo-Arena. That's right. Their bass player, Joe Boojjer, is soaked in metal, dunked in sludge and steeped in the alternative rock legends of Primus, Tool and the Melvins. He lives in an underworld of sub-harmonic, colorblind little demons where unheard of noises gurgle like tremendous throaty spasms and dank, evil laughter. Ah ha haaa! The drummer, Lorth Samuelsson, is simply mad. Keith Moon is grinning in his grave listening to the multi-limbed cacaphony of this fiesty mealstrom. No beat too fast, too aggresive or too indecipherable for this skins maestro, Lorth lays down the steady beats when necessary. But, it's hard to hold him back. That's like telling Fantomas to lay off the psychedelic cartoon noises. His influences range from Django Reinhart to Idapanda and everything in-between. GT, the broody yet loveable frontman, is a true guitar hero. His lythe fingers ooze with 70's guitar rock, but his heart fluctuates between butterfly tones and jackhammer harmonics. He writes about everything from the suicides of Hemingway and Cobain to the arc of Raven wings and his gutteral vocals emerge as if plucked from the depths of the ocean or the bowels of the Earth (in a good way). Jakcscrew puts it all together with the compositional skill of the Masters. Their songs are intimate, but their sound is built for the big stage. Neo-Arena rock is here!
