For you lovers of great music

This is a CD that you MUST HAVE.

Kamal has taken the elements of Calypso, Blues, Funk and African Rhythms and combined them into a wonderful, exciting and danceable style called World-wide-wide Beat. He has chosen some of the Jazz and Funk greats, Idris Muhammed, James Spaulding and Bobby Watson, to accompany him and add a bit of Swing. The beautiful melodic ballad, "Peace" allows the listener to relax and become spiritually uplifted.

Kamal Abdul-Alim is a masterful composer and performer who works in the diverse and cross-pollinating idioms of Jazz, African music and the other music of the African Diaspora. His playing has to it both a power to astonish and a lyricism which rivets the listener, calling to mind the historical roots of African music where storytelling was not a separate art but rather an integral part of the community life itself.

While residing in Europe and Africa, Kamal involved himself with several of the most exciting African, Caribbean and South American musicians: notably - Manu Dibango, Ray Lema, Chris McGregor and Xalam. In New York he performed with Jazz legends, Randy Weston, Frank Foster and Clark Terry.

Whether playing the Blues or linking up with the ideas of the ancestors, he is one who should not be missed.
