Details:
Released by the newly formed WVC Productions, Archive... is a 13 track collage of genres and musical styles. From the reggae fueled âPreludeâ¦â to the no strings attached, hard rocking âEighth Step,â Jason York gives listeners a view inside his mind.

Jason York is a solo artist from San Diego. Originally trained on the bass guitar, Jason has branched out to fulfill almost every role on his latest album Archive. Bassist, guitarist, keyboardist, percussionist, and programmer. In addition, York recorded and produced the album on his own. Most of his previous albums contained entirely electronic instrumentation. This is the first album where Jason has done what he does best. Play the bass.

"I want to create music that will produce wonder & amazement. Or that can bring back a memory to someone of some other music or life experience that makes them surprised to even remember it."

"When I listen to what I think is great music I develop a sense of self. An amazement grows as a result of constructing a context for the music to reside in my life. I want to produce a feeling of awe and amazement that is not a reaction to talent, technique, or style, but is an epiphany of the listener of how my music applies to their existence."

Jason York is contantly striving to create new material. Not just new for him, but new to all ears. A series of notes to reproduce virginity. To bring the listener to a time where the ears were open to all notes in any sequence or pattern. When sound was illogical and music was only a word. A legendary concept that still needed defining.

Shaugn Ander from fellow San Diego band, The Perpetual Dysfunction, had this to say about Archive...

"The instrumental album that has been sorely missing from everyone's cd collection! Jason's unique musical vision paces seemlessly between classical, jazz, rock and nearly everything in between. The resulting thirteen track opus celebrates the spirit of creativity and boldly refuses to be confined by any simplified stylistic categorization. The mood and emotions conveyed here vary from thoughtful introspection to celebration, never losing an underlying vibe of specific glee that is certainly stamped into it's subconcious by the author's love for his craft and pride in a job well done. While it's structures and parts can at times be relatively complex and well thought out, it is easily accessible to those who just need a crafty hook or a tasty melody. It would be equally at home whispering softly behind a mature cocktail party or blasting from the stereo of a college frat party. In short, if you have any pleasurable inclinations toward music whatsoever, this cd is well worth your time."
