Helen Hays Theatre, Broadway, New York.........A giant claw, A 12 foot high bicycle.......heads served on a platter.........., and Jana's Broadway debut had come and gone.


After spending 5 years on the road with a performance art group where she choreographed, co-wrote, and performed 8 different shows, Jana left exhausted and disgusted with music........and felt lost.


As a self-proclaimed, "recovering music school drop-out", Jana has spent the last 2 years working on her first solo recording. "I'm really excited about it, I'm happy with the music and have had some really great experiences exploring new musical ideas, and working with wonderful musicians."

Guitar based, soulful pop songs fill up the 7-song debut, with friend David Usokinnion on drums (The Hooters, Alice Cooper, Cyndi Lauper, Patty Smyth, Taj Mahal) and song collaborator Melanie Peters on Guitar.

"Bittersweet", the title song from the dually named CD, opens with a bite of raw, uncomfortable honesty, reminiscent of Alanis Morisette. Melancholy, literal, and often adult-ly poetic lyrics dominate this album, and leave us feeling strangely satisfied...yet still hungry for more.
