James Carroll is a singer/songwriter/artist who resides in Toronto, Canada. After teaching himself how to play acoustic guitar at the age of seventeen he began playing coffee houses around town and quickly realized he was becoming addicted to this music buzz. He also realized he needed a band! While searching for bass and drums to complete this mission he offered his guitar playing talent to other singer/songwriters. When he finally hooked up with a decent rythm section the James Carroll Rockin'Shockin'Boogie Band took flight and for 12 years played wherever and whenever they could. The inevitable happened and after the demise of that project James hooked up with Shady Blues and did an all blues gig for another 12 years before finally finding his own musical niche which seems to be a hybrid of country, rock'n'roll and some other elusive slant that helps set him apart from other artists. This album,"Travelvoid" is James Carroll's first recording and from the rocking "Burn In Hell" to the Band like "Broken Barns" and the psychodelic title track,"Travelvoid" he has offered a toe-tapping, top-down, good time CD that is fun and memorable so grab one now, crank it up and spread the word!
