Original and Traditional Irish-American Music

11 MP3 Songs
WORLD: Celtic, FOLK: Traditional Folk

Details:
James West is a second generation Irish-American whose family hails from County Down, Northern Ireland. He has been singing for several years, and has been the resident performer at Keagan's Irish Pub in Virgina Beach, VA since its opening. He brings a unique voice to many Irish favorites, but is also known for injecting his shows with a modern edge, including music from contemporary Irish and Celtic bands like the Saw Doctors and Great Big Sea. And occasionally, he lets his punk roots show with numbers from Flogging Molly and Social Distortion, to name a few.

This album features guest appearances by Martin Marron, another Irish singer from Virginia Beach; Tom Cassidy, an uilleann piper from New York; and Tom Flatley, a fiddler and James' first performing partner, also from Virginia Beach

****"The Brigid" has been added to the playlist for "Ceol na nGael", the Irish music program featured on Sunday afternoons on WFUV 90.7FM in New York City!****
