This project is R and B, but very universal. Anyone can relate to the sound of it. There is a very unique urban/ hip hop undertone to the album that seems to keep you constantly on edge. From slow cuts to club bangers, this project has it all.

Details:
After nearly ten years of bringing the R&B edge to the Midwest hip hop group, 'The Prodigies', singer Jae has taken a slight break from the group scene, and directed his energy toward a solo project. In the making of the album, Jae linked up with some of the most talented young producers out there. Most notably, K Dawg, also with The Prodigies, produced the majority of the album; and did so in ground-breaking fashion. Jae also worked with Chase of Divine Mill and Justin Morris of Vega Shine. And after almost two years, the project was finally ready for the world.

The album features 15 tracks that all embody different musical qualities. From the soulful, hip hop record, 'Rebound', to the slow, classic R&B cut, 'If I Was Your Man', the project is definitely well-rounded. "I've always wanted to appeal to everyone because I feel that music is universal. It's one thing that all people can enjoy." And the album is just that. There is at least one song on the album for everyone.

Growing up in Indianapolis, Indiana, Jae, the son of a preacher, was always around music in the church. His mother played the organ and all of his sisters sang in the choir. He also sang in the choir and over time, Jae began to lead songs in church and then in concerts at school. This gave him a wonderful feeling and when he saw the reactions of the people and the applause they gave him, he wanted to do it more and more.

Gradually, Jae developed a great love for R&B music. Groups and artists such as Boyz to Men, Brian McKnight, Joe, R. Kelly, Stevie Wonder, and 112 began to influence his singing style and musical aspirations. After hearing these artists, Jae wanted to be just like them. So when Jae was 14 years old, he and his best friend, Druce (also of 'The Prodigies) began to record music on a karaoke machine. Progressively they got better. "We would make gospel albums by writing songs during school hours and then recording them when we got home. We would even tell some of the guys that wanted us to play ball with them to wait until we were done (laughing). Looking back, this has obviously been a passion that we've had for a very long time."

Along with music, Jae has been heavily involved with athletics. Following high school, he played football and participated in track and field at the University of Iowa. He then went on to play professionally for the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, and the Atlanta Falcons. From the amazing people he met, to the knowledge of life in an entertainment business, Jae's experience in the NFL was priceless. But most importantly, he learned about what it took to be great in any field of work.

During high school and college, Jae and The Prodigies (then the Young Prodigies), recorded three albums. And with each album, there was a huge margin of improvement and growth. The latest album, The Prodigies.com, managed to create a substantial buzz throughout the Midwest. And this project was sheer motivation for the first Jae album. Not only was it a learning tool, but it was an essential stepping stone for the future. And now, the work ethic and desire for perfection that Jae epitomizes will be displayed through his own music. So finally, the anticipation is over. This new exciting artist has gotten the ball rolling and the best is yet to come!
