Details:
Although Steinhoff takes pleasure in making people laugh, he has the most fun when he is reapplying the accumulating wisdom of his soul to a whole variety of art mediums. An unacknowledged, major influence on major people (is it possible?), his is the "auteur" approach. As an example, when he makes his self-distributed videos, he is everything from the writer to the producer to the editor to the caterer to wardrobe back to the director over to the bouncer, and he is the casting director as well. Everything but acting (except sometimes). No wonder he talks to himself. The same auteur approach is used in his music, wherein there is not a single element he can blame on anyone else. Steinhoff does, however, have a minor criticism of a general notion regarding the song medium itself - he considers it simplistic that people expect autobiograpy whenever the first person singular is employed in a song. "Furthermore," he states, "songs exist as part of an art medium - the personal, therapeutic release they often provide is a component, not the whole show."
