James Pearl (artistic pseudonym of Dimitris Tzaninis) has been among the d.j.'s that promoted electronic music to the Greek audience in the early 90's through his radio show in one of the most succesful ever Athens' radio station Klik fm, which nowadays is a myth, by selecting music that combined the musical feeling of the masters of soft-rock and their descendants (Pink Floyd, Yes, Vangelis, Dire Straits etc.) with the electronic arrangements of then first appearing artists (Moby, FSOL, William Orbit etc.), and by interviewing for radio and TV and introducing to the local audience many artists that developed to become some of the scene's megastars (David Morales, Kevin Saunderson of Innercity, Westbam etc.) simultaneously with spinning at the clubs dance d.j. sets with dreamy and mellow breakdowns, being himself a fan of the pioneer Paul Oakenfold.
Nowadays, he runs his own record label, publishing and distribution company,aiming to contribute in the evolution of all aspects of electronic music.
