Details:
John Vaughan is a singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist. Although he is American, he has lived in Europe since the end of the 1960's. Most of the time in Berlin, Germany. During the early 70's, he also toured with the rock musicals,
Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar. It was with the Jesus Christ Tour that John , in the role of Simon Zealot, first came to Berlin in 1972, and performed at the world famous Deutschlandhalle.

Acoustic Folk Rock has always been about the best way to describe his music and great melodies, and his lyrics and word images are truly in a league of their own. While living in London for awhile in the mid 70's, he played the folk clubs there, and often shared the same stage with friends such as Elvis Costello, Wizz Jones, and Paul Millns. Over the years and along the miles, John has opened the show for artists like Eric Burdon, John Sebastian, Loudon Wainwright III, The Spencer Davis Group, The Golden Earrings, Johnnie and The Drivers, and last Christmas in London, he opened for the legendary, newly reformed, The Yardbirds.

Though John usually performs solo, he also plays with his band, JOHN VAUGHAN & STATE SECRETS. The band is made up of three great players who do a fine job of adding some really cool backing to John's songs. The band members are Richard de Bastion from England on piano & vocals, Joe Kucera from the Czech Republic on saxophones & flute, and Tommy Goldschmidt from Bolivia on percussion.

These musicians and lots of other great players can all be heard on both of John's excellent CD's, titled, "Somewhere In Europe" and "Postcards From The Road". John has started work on his third CD, which, like his second CD "Postcards", will also be produced by Ramesh B. Weeratunga from Sri Lanka, who has also lived and worked in the music scene in Berlin for over thirty years. The CD will be out next year and it will also be available for you here at CD BABY!!!
