One of Jesse's biggest fans was quoted as saying," You know, most people write about things they think people want to hear; Jesse writes from the heart with an honesty that is so rare." That is what defines him as an artist. He plays what he feels. Jesse jokes about his career choice, "I didn't choose to be a musician, music chose me." He listens to everything from emo rock to hip-hop, jazz to classical. He says of his musical taste, "I have never heard a genre of music that didn't have something to offer, but what really moves me are people like Stevie Wonder and Bob Marley who are pure expression -- prophets."
Jesse's self-titled EP has an original sound with sweet melodies, strong hooks, and a commanding voice that mesmerizes. There are hints of Beck, Cold Play, Neil Young and Bowie. Not only has he shown a great talent for song writing and vocals but the guitar work is also something to listen for. Whether acoustic or electric, the guitar work is original, complex and well composed, with emotion to match the content.
