Details:
The Jerrys, a British-influenced guitar-pop band from Chicago, Illinois, are the sounds of Jerry Schwartz, who writes, plays, sings, and produces their music. Since their first self-released album in 2001, the Jerrys have continued to release original indie pop confections on a regular basis. The Jerrys are the jangly whim of one man--a whim with an edge and a sound of its own.

Jerry began playing music at an early age, and in fourth grade, he received his first electric guitar, a Sears Silvertone. At age 15, Schwartz formed his first band and played his first paid gig. After finishing high school, Jerry began recording his own songs and sending them to anyone who would listen, working assorted jobs to support his musical and literary ambitions.

By the late-1990s, the Internet was changing the way music was delivered, and indie bands with Web pages were springing up everywhere, offering streaming audio and free downloads of their music. It was a new era for those who had not previously been able to reach such a wide audience, and Schwartz began recording for a new project that allowed him to join in the fun: The Jerrys.

The Jerrys' debut album, Pop Go The Jerrys, was released in 2001; their Web site was launched that same year. Listeners' comparisons ranged from Boyce & Hart to Matthew Sweet. Their follow-up CD, Jerryrigged, was released two years later. After a series of Internet singles, Best of the Jerrys was released in 2006.

There's more music on the way, so stay tuned. This is one band that won't be breaking up anytime soon!
