What is VOICES ?!?

Voices is a collection of recordings that I made using a unique approach -- I like to call it âvocal layeringâ -- which takes full advantage of multi-track recording by layering several voice parts (with a single voice) on top of each other to produce a complicated texture of rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic interactions with the drum & percussion tracks. All of the parts were created using a very improvisational process, so every piece is different in its own way. This process is hard to explain, but easy to groove to, so enjoy!

Artist BIO

Jeremy is a passionate drummer who graduated from St. Olaf College with a B.M. degree in Voice Performance. While at St. Olaf, he sang bass in the internationally known St. Olaf Choir (and led the section his senior year), and played drums and percussion for -- among others -- the St. Olaf Orchestra, St. Olaf Jazz 1, and jam band Falling Green. Most recently, he has drummed for the Matt Johnson Band (www.mattjohnsonband.com and www.myspace.com/mattjohnsonband) and the Joey Kantor Trio, and led the bass section of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church choir in Minnetonka. Currently, he sings bass with The Singers: Minnesota Choral Artists (www.singersmca.org), and drums for the Twin Cities' newest Powerpop band, Love in October (www.loveinoctober.com).
