Bio of the Artist

Jealous Mike, known by his real name Orlando Hill, is an indie rock artist living in New York City. He has recently finished producing and recording his first album titled California Sky, released on his own label QB Records. (You may purchase this cd at CDBaby.com or questforbrilliance.com.) His sound can be described as British and American melodic rock mixed with upbeat electronic music. His sound has been compared to bands like Muse, Modest Mouse, Interpol, The Strokes, Pearl Jam, Moby, and DJ Shadow. In the upcoming months, his focus is to sell his record, continue playing shows around New York, and write more songs.

Born and raised in Princeton, New Jersey, Orlando has been playing music all his life. He first began by singing in his church choir at age five. He played alto-saxophone in middle school and switched to bass guitar in high school. He joined a group with two other friends and they became one of the most popular bands, performing weekly shows in Princeton, and making it onto the H.O.R.D.E. tour in 1998. In college, Orlando auditioned for drums with a rock group and soon after became their permanant bassist. They grew most of their fanbase from playing at clubs and university parties around Washington, DC. Their highlights included performing at the George Washington University Fashion Show and at Georgetown University Welcome Week. However, by senior year, the guitarist quit and the band broke-up.

Orlando has since then played in a band in London, England, and has traveled the west coast of the US promoting his recently recorded solo album California Sky (2005).
