Ignition is a four piece progressive rock band out of San Diego, California. Brad Pogue (bass and vocals); Alan Bowman (keyboards); Paul Branton (guitars); and Larry Rushing (drums), have been performing together since 1990. The "Pointless" CD is their first release and has received good reviews at Progfreaks.com and Progradio.com. The band was raised on Rush, UFO, Led Zepplin, and Deep Purple. Today, some of their favorite artists include Spock's Beard, Dream Theater, Transatlantic, Enchant, AudioSlave, etc. - anyone trying something different, but still having an ear for melody. Three chord Punk and anyone screaming/yelling instead of singing notes does not cut it.
"Pointless" features short progressive songs, strong vocals, and a lush, full sound. Ignition is currently working on their second CD, which promises to be heavier and more progressive than the first.
