Social conscience Latin music with a rock flair.
16 MP3 Songs
WORLD: World Fusion, ROCK: Folk Rock
Details:
This music is a blend of Latin, folk and rock influences. The rhythms and melodies catch the ear and the lyrics stimulate the soul. Kent Jensenâs experiences in Latin America have influenced the music. Its people have shaped his life. One of the songs included on the cd Requiem/Terror in the Mountains is based upon the sufferings of the Indians of Peru and their struggles with their government and the Shining Path with the U.S. Governmentâs lack of sympathy in granting asylum requests. Another song, Al Norte, describes the plight of undocumented workers seeking a better life in the United States. Yet, at the same time the traditional love ballads and folk rock messages permeate the other pieces on the album. The music is at times soft, lyrical and classical, but also hard and forceful. Theses songs are an example of the passion that is found in music. Music should carry a message, as it speaks to the deepest of human emotions.
With Kent Jensen leading the way with guitar, vocals and keyboards, complimented by Jeff Ringleâs percussion, along with Ana Boydâs vocals and viola work, the album spans genres that are sure to satisfy anyoneâs taste. Itâs a big world and the music has something for everyone.
