Details:
It seems that when you travel for one hour in any direction out of the Los Angeles basin you enter an entirely different world. Drive approximately an hour northeast and you will arrive somewhere within the Antelope Valley. As you climb into the high desert there are harsh terrain changes, Joshua trees, vast space, a big sky with white clouds, and a relentless fierce wind that blows out of the west with such unpleasant force it seems surreal. The white line of the highway divides the indigenous white trash trailer culture, from the new tract homes of the commuting doomed.
This is the same savage desert that spawned the likes of Frank Zappa and Captain Beef Heart. It is where young Clarence White crafted his skill, lived and played with his brothers, and later died on Sierra Highway loading his musical equipment into his car after a gig in a local bar.
This suburban experiment gone wrong gives birth to four boys in the early eighties. These four youngsters lived, played, and attended school together. They were the best of friends making the best of the desert. As young boys will do they discovered the world of music. Christopherussell writes and sings. Matt Smyles plays his guitar. Sam Halterman drums and Alec Berg decides that the only thing left to do, to not be left behind by his friends, is to play bass.
The dream of happily ever after is offered as a white bread world of new houses, commuting elders, latch key peers, and new malls. This dream was sold, but in their awakening the harshness of this existence was all too real as it was given to them in the form of a gift and then taken back.

Born from the loins of the great white suburban buffalo, ladies and gentlemen I present to you⦠⦠The Indian Givers.
