In The Pocket is a student/adult collaborative ensemble at Durham Academy in Durham, NC. We specialize in many forms of popular musicâjazz, rock, soul, R&B, blues, funk, '80s pop, with even some pop and musical theatre thrown in for kicks. We've even performed hip-hop as well, backing up local rap duo Language Arts.
The auditioned ensemble provides a truly interactive music education experience, as students are involved as equals in virtually all aspects of the music production, working with experienced adult musicians from the DA community.
The music on this recording represents only a small fraction of our wide variety of musical tastes. Please come join us at a performance (or invite us to a performance!) to get the full ITP experience.
