Nanni-Salce Intention
Mark Nanni and David Salce have been playing jazz music together for more than a decade. The styles have ranged from piano trio standard and original, to quintet all-original, to organ funk. The flavors have continued to evolve over the years, as have Markâs and Davidâs roles as musicians in their respective communities (Syracuse and Ithaca, NY.) Both are influenced by and steeped in multiple styles of music and have made their livings over a wide range of musical opportunities, together and separately.
Nanni is a pianist, vocalist, composer, arranger and producer. Salce is the sympathetic rhythm on drum kit to all of their musical adventures. The chemistry between these musicians is what makes the Intention what it is: spontaneous, soulful, Neo-Traditional Party-Jazz music!
While Nanni and Salce are the core of the Intention, and indeed play a number of shows as a duo, they also add soloists and bassists to round out the combo to that of traditional instrumentations. The self-titled CD The Intention exhibits the many sub-styles of the jazz genre this group is capable of. We hope youâll enjoy the music. . .
