4 songs written on 4 january days in a row. like yelling cuss words at the wind when it's too cold.
4 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Power-folk, ROCK: Punk
Details:
in january 2005 i lived in a run-down house in brooklyn with a bunch of jazz musicians. it was really cold and people were always up really late. maybe i wrote the first one of these songs because i couldn't get to sleep. but however it happened, i ended up writing four songs for four nights. i had never done that before, and since they were all good songs i decided to commit them to record. i think they capture something about that time of year, they way things/people can look bleak and cold and ridiculous and beautiful all at once. it's not your standard seasonal music but i think the season is in there. i tried to make these songs pretty in-your-face with somewhat unconventional sounds, instruments, ways of recording things, and i kept the instrumentation pretty simple because these songs seem simple to me.
