Houston based band, house of moist, have taken the swampy feel of their native southern Louisiana and sledged it together with urban Texas sweat to create a visceral set of songs. Their music approaches you with a pounding force as their incendiary live performances showcase both the band's strength as a dynamic unit and their relentless passion for the music they create. Know that this is a rock band. Holding true to words, every show is everything.
The musical history of the three players is long in the making. house of moist members, Chris Ferguson (vocals and guitar), Christopher Bourque (guitar and bass) and Kevin Radomski (drums) have been creating and playing on stage, either together or in separate groups, for well over half their lives. This experience feeds the complete conviction documented on their self-produced first release.
There is no disputing the honesty that seems to pour from speakers when listening to this record. Bourque describes how the band remained focused on their plan, "Our idea, from the beginning, was to record the songs the way we heard them in our heads." Lyrical themes diversify wildly with references to abuse, complex personal relationships, science fiction and even politics. One might not be able to tell at first listen, however, as repeat visits reveal more pronounced intentions. "Our words are deliberately easy to learn but accidentally hard to understand," adds Ferguson.
Their self-released first single, "harder," has seen repeated airplay on Houston's 94.5 The Buzz and was featured as Rock Track of the Day on Garageband.com and IUMA.com. In addition to being showcased on Houstonbands.net and MP3Jackpot.com, "harder" even spent two months at #1 on the Gator Press Texas Top 40. Other highlights include being selected to perform at the Superbash in downtown Houston for Super Bowl XXXVIII as well as participating in the ultra huge Milwaukee Summerfest for the last two years.
