Details:
It all began with a dream. A purpose. A quest. Indie/folk/pop artist Jason Harwell had an idea in the shower - to write and record a song a week to post on JasonHarwell.com. Sure, it had been done before, he thought, but to the best of his knowledge, no one had attempted to write and record a year's worth of songs from just about every conceivable genre of music - from rap to rock to punk to pop to reggae to acoustic to "anglo-soul" - the list would go on.

And so he did. He wrote and recorded his little heart out, and as the first year of the "Flavor of the Week" (as it came to be known), the songs had been such a hit with fans online and at shows, that a murmur began to grow. The people wanted these Flavors on a CD, and they wanted it NOW. James Brown said it best when he said, "Gotta give 'em what they want - uhh! - gotta give 'em what they need!", and so Jason took the "best" Flavors of the Week from 2004 and put them together to form this collection, "JasonHarwell.com Presents: The Flavor of the Year, Volume One".

You have to put the quotes around the word when you say "best" in this case because, well, we're not sure exactly what to call these songs. They defy any sort of categorization. Recorded in various bedrooms, living rooms (and even one bathroom) in Georgia and California, this collection of randomness leaves you scratching your head and wondering out loud. The weird thing is, it also gets stuck in your head for days. You'll love it. You'll hate it. You probably won't understand it. But you just might not be able to take it out of your CD player.

Learn what happened to the Bad Student. Do a few word problems. Dream about surfing away from law school. Cruise 'dat hoopty. Rock the mullet. Get married in elementary school. Stay away from Frank. All that and more on this collection! It's an hour of Flavor for $12.97. You can't beat that. Seriously. And make sure you check out the new Flavors each week at JasonHarwell.com!
