A diverse mix of folk, blues, and rock injected with a good bit of country and soul.
13 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Folk Blues, ROCK: Roots Rock
Details:
Lyrically, Hank Quillen is reminiscent of singer/songwriters like Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, exploring such poetic devices as symbolism and metaphor; Quillen's unaffected vocals add to the integrity and honesty of the music, providing more bang for the buck than most of the mainstream country fodder we're being force-fed these days.
- Shake Magazine
This is not overproduced 'pop country' schlock, this is heartfelt songwriting with pleasing diversity and great production.
-musesmuse.com
Hank's guitar ranges from sweet melancholy to rockin' it down. The songs are well crafted and hold their own with the cover of Johnny Cash's "Hey Porter" -Nashville Music Guide
Hank Quillen was raised in Gate City, VA. He's been writing, drawing, and doing something with his imagination since he could hold pen to paper. Packed with a boatload of songs he sooned moved to Nashville to pursue music fulltime. After playing out solo for a while and a few acting gigs in movies and videos he decided to form his own record label and is releasing his music himself. The first in a long line of many is "Wings of Freedom", produced by Tom Manche and Hank himself .
