Janai Michelle Brinson can definetly hold her own, growing up in Inglewood, CA, she was raised to have a strong mind and will, belief in herself and her abilities, and most importantly faith in God. She always new that although things were rough in an out of home, she had the power to change her view on life through music. She began singing at age 4, in the Sunshine Band Rainbow church choir, where she continued through middle school performing in many school plays and concerts. She lead, directed, and wrote many of the songs for her youth choir and praise team, and sang many requested solos local churches. Her foundation, being strongly rooted in gospel music, helped her develop her style and soulful sound and although gospel was all she knew; she possesed a strong desire to write music about her life and her emotional changes wholeheartedly, a freedom disclosed from gospel music. In high school, she was introduced to R&B and began listening to the radio everyday, although it wasn't allowed by her parents, and fell in love with the sound and expresiion. By her junior year, she was recording her music in various home studios. She performed her first R&B single at The Uplifting Minds Conference in 2003, where she was awarded best Songwriter and vocal performance and recieved many other accolades which gave her the confermation that this is what she was meant to do. She continued performing at various local contest, showcases, open mics, lounges and earned her right into the spotlight. Janai is slowly, but surely taking her place into the music indusrty. Her music not only captivates the mind and spirit but her unique sound carries you through reality and into a world of fantasy. Her recently released CD, "Drunkin Love,"produced by Syndicate Entertainment, has been strongly anticipated and an accomplishment that she desires to share with the world. Janai Brinson is the real deal she is beautiful inside and out and has a vioce that will relax your mind and preserve your sexy.
