About the Author: Alfonso I. Vergara has practiced internal medicine for more than thirty years in the Washington, D.C., metro area, mainly in Northern Virginia. Vergara now travels and lectures about neurodevelopmental disorders. He lives in McLean, Virginia, with his wife and son, and travels frequently to his native Santa Marta, Colombia.
