Franz Von Bayros also known as Marquis de Bayros is best known for his controversial erotic illustrations. A graduate of the Vienna Academy, he evolved in the elegant fin-de-siecle Viennese society of artists, poets and musicians. With an exquisite draughtsmanship, he depicts a complex world of luxurious decadence and sexual anarchy taking place in the cozy boudoirs of the upper class. He was admired but also banned throughout Europe for his outrageous work.
