Details:
Hi! I'm David! I'm glad you're here! Yes, I've always found these bios to be a bit contrived as well--but you want to know about me? Well, I started playing music when I was 15 years old, almost by accident. I joined a performance troupe that was just losing its guitar player, and my family happened to have a couple of guitars, so I was drafted! And just like that I was a guitar player. Okay, so it was a bit more difficult. I remember saying a prayer one night for God to help me learn to play the guitar so that I could use it to serve Him. I'm not sure if it was that or the eight hours of practice every day, but at any rate I learned pretty quick.

I traveled around the Pacific Northwest with Citadel for almost three years, giving performances in schools and public meetings about racial harmony, equality of men and women, agreement between science and religion, and a number of other social and spiritual issues. We drew our inspiration from the teachings of the Bahá'í Faith (see http://bahai.org), a faith that has continued to inspire me to the present day.

I started at Clackamas CC in 1993, and graduated over ten years later from Berea College in Kentucky.
In between, I lived in Israel and in China, toured through Europe and Asia a couple of times, took the Trans-Siberian railroad, worked for a company that makes deaf people hear, volunteered for three and a half years at the Baha'i World Centre, taught English in a foreign university, learned a whole bunch about the world, and through it all played and wrote music. Since I graduated I've been performing around the country, and I'm now working on recording the next few CD projects.
