What?Where?Who?Why?

What does the music sound like?
pink-cotton-candy clouds of music floating in the upper atmosphere

What are the musical influences?
The Velvet Underground and Nico, Brian Enoâs first three solo albums, Middle Eastern Dance Music, Soft Machine, Phil Manzanera, surf music, 1950s pop music, Adrian Belew, David Bowie.

Where are . . .?
In the vicinity of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Where/when can I see a performance?
Possibly by the end of July 2006 somewhere in Louisiana. The High Pink Clouds are a collective of like-minded musicians that are more interested in recording than public performance.

Who are . . . ?
Participating on the cd are:
Zenobia Marsh: vocals
Panacan: vocals (Tuvan throat singing)
Kenneth Johnston: instrumentation and composition
Not participating in the recording, but part of the collective are Captain Mohammed Starfry(guitar), Krishna Provolone(drum kit), Zyla Twarp (oscillator, tapes, and treatments). Panacan also plays bass.

Is this computer generated music? Did you use Sonar, Pro Tools or Acid?
No. Although there is considerable editing and digital manipulation of sounds, computers were not allowed to become part of the creative or compositional process. Everything was initially played on real instruments, and no midi generated sounds were used. If you must know, the software used was Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and Soundforge 4.5 for effects, noise reduction and edits.

What instruments were used?
'lectric and 'coustic guitars(strat, tele, various no-name thrift store guitars, an Epiphone EL-00) bass, synthesizer, homemade oscillator, chord organ, tape recorder, Alamo electric guitar with âbuzzâ bridge, vox canis major, vox canis minor, zither, clothing iron, geese, garbage can/pots n pans drum kit
