Details:
Erland grew up in a house surrounded by music, and that shows today.
Son of the prolific composer Maurice Karkoff, Erland was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1979. At the age of 5 Erland started figuring out how to play anything, and everything, that was played on the radio, simply by ear. Later the same year he started studying the violin, learning classical pieces by composers such as Mozart and Beethoven. Early on he was told he had perfect pitch. Having moved a lot in his life, Erland has played and studied instruments less common such as the ukulele. At the age of 12, while living in Switzerland, Erland rented his first electric guitar. He quickly taught himself how to play songs popular at the time by bands such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam, and also classics such as "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. At the age of 13, Erland got his first guitar, an old Swedish acoustic from 1958 with a neck "about as wide as a baseball bat." That same year Erland started playing the drums while continuing to play the electric guitar.

Excluding lyrics, Erland doesn't write the songs ahead of time. He makes them up the moment while he's recording, usually in one take. Having been a fan of music ranging from electronic to classical, from rock to pop and anything in between, Erland is sure to please many listeners.
