Details:
"Who is Eric Wilson ?", one might ask. Eric Carlyle Wilson Jr. was born, raised, and still resides in Cleveland, Ohio. He is one of the city's most sought after hip hop producers and he is very respected as an emcee. Defining his style can be a bit of a challenge since he incorporates styles from all of the regions of the U.S. and beyond. His eclecticism is very obvious as the rhythms and melodies mix and mingle to eventually grab all of the attention of any person that understands and feels the power of hard urban beats and well-composed tracks. It is also apparent that his brand of Midwestern production is definitely a creation of no one else's because of the complex, multi-layered applications of easily distinguishable instruments, such as guitars, pianos, and strings. Being that his musical influences include Dr. Dre, Rakim, and Quincy Jones, his material conveys a feeling that the music was made to reflect the intricacies of himself and not just to be rapped over.

Eric Wilson has had a love for and desire to create his own original music since around age 4. He routinely performed in front of friends and family, banging on anything that simulated the sounds of drums. By age 10, he was a member of his elementary school's orchestra and youth choir while also performing as a drummer at his neighborhood community center. At age 11, he was selected to perform at Cleveland State University in an ensemble of the most talented musicians of the Cleveland Public School District.

As an emcee, Eric has performed, opened up and/or worked with many notable acts such as UGK, Master P, Too Short, Devin The Dude, Keith Murray, Capone and Noreaga, Joe Budden, and many others. As a producer, he has worked with or still works with Big Rube of the Dungeon Family, Flesh N' Bone, Layzie Bone, Midwest Mafia (Blob Greedy and Killa Smoov), Dogzilla, Suave Gotti, Strik9, Chief, Jay-Kool, and countless other Cleveland area talent. He also produced the entire Mental Therapy compilation (Mindstrong Entertainment, 2000) that received very good reviews and did respectable numbers in the streets of Cleveland.

With these experiences under his belt, his goal is to become an influential hip hop trendsetter, eventually lacing his own signature sound in urban popular music. He also has plans to venture into scoring films, commercial jingles, and directing documentary-style films and music videos.

In conclusion, Eric Wilson is a bright star on the rise. He is on a relentless journey to succeed and has proven that he has what it takes to ascend himself and others that work with him. Be on the look-out for releases with Eric's finger prints all over them from members of the Gutta Camp, Jay-Kool, Sid Vicious, Cheif, a Scratchpaper Compilation album, and of course his highly-anticipated solo debut, The Warm Up (2006).
