Who are the East Bay Anointed Voices?

EBAV is more than just a choir or group; we are a multi-racial, inter-denominational OUTREACH MINISTRY that seeks to comfort those who are disillusioned, depressed and disappointed.

This mix of talented vocalists and musicians of all ages come together to minister the word of God through song and to touch the souls of people who donât necessarily listen to Gospel music and donât know the goodness of God. Under the direction of Donald Taylor and Rachelle Rogers-Ard, this dynamic ministry in blue performs original material that sets new standards for gospel music and inspires others to be diverse.

What kind of gospel do they sing?

EBAVâs original material composed by Donald Taylor and Rachelle Rogers-Ard soothes, inspires, and brings joy to the listener. EBAVâs music is a mix of traditional and contemporary gospel styles, infused with jazz, Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Both of EBAVâs composers pride themselves on using both traditional and non-traditional harmonies, blends, and arrangements to appeal to the more contemporary listener.

As an independent recording group, we are quite pleased to present our third and most ambitious CD to date. Produced by songwriter/producer/composer Larry Batiste, who is also the President of the SF chapter of the Grammys, this CD brings EBAV's music to an entirely new level while remaining true to the composers' spirit of contemporary Christian gospel music.

"True Love" and "All He wants to do is Love You", written by Donald Taylor, tell the story of receiving the type of love only God can give. "By and By", a traditional hymn that Donald rearranged, has all of the well-known lyrics set a new latin samba beat.

The first song "Thank You", was written by Rachelle Ard to give thanks for God's goodness to EBAV and in her private life - even when we don't deserve it! The song speaks of receiving "unmerited favor" - or as some say: favor ain't fair!

"Love Song", is Rachelle's personal love poetry to God set upon a neo-soul background. The title track "Imagine" tells Mary's story of having to carry her baby, then give Him away to an unrepentant world. Can you imagine how she must have felt?

The final track, "When We all get There" is a triumphant upbeat praise detailing the joy of getting to heaven.

Again, we are really proud of the work we have done with this 3rd CD - we can "Imagine" success!
