Ed Putney is an Arizona native and his music reflects many aspects of the vanishing American west, with deep seeded roots in the southwest, he honed his ability of story telling through music, from experiences, legends and people of the southwest.
His music could probably be described as being geographical with story songs some written in a kind of transcendence to the past, while other songs tell of stories of a more modern west.
His haunting story of the lost Dutchman gold mine, in the legend of Jacob Walze, will make you feel like you've ridden a burro back into the Superstition mountains, and spent an evening around the campfire with the old Dutchman himself. C.J.

THE CEDAR TRAIL is one of my favorite places to ride. It brings back memories of my old friend Norm Clark, Riding that trail makes me feel like I've gone back in time 120 years.
COWBOYS ARE A DYING BREED I've known very few real cowboys in my life, this song is dedicated to those old boys as we rode, the stories that were told.
They will always be heroes to me.
DESERT SKYS Texas Canyon is more than just a place outside of Wilcox, Arizona, its where my Grandparents dated each other, or courted each other . It was an old dancehall on top of a huge rock, a popular place to go back in the 1920s and 30s, its gone now, just a few boards and nails and dusty whiskey bottles.
SHE DROVE A TRACTOR this song is part fantasy and part reality, and ill say no more.
