With smooth vocals and a great mix of fully orchestrated soft ballads, praise hymns, and contemporary hits, this easy-listening CD has something for almost everyone.This is Ed's second solo recording after winning a national Christian soloist competition in Estes Park, Colorado.
If you like big band numbers, you'll really enjoy Ed's rendition of Ralph Carmichael's toe-tapping "Come On Home." One of our favorites is his updated version of George Beverly Shea's "I'd Rather Have Jesus," and the touch-of-country ballad, "I Want To Be Just Like You."
Coming from a very musical family, four "Thompson Family" Gospel albums were recorded before Ed graduated from high school. He subsequently entered and won the nation-wide Christian Artist Seminar talent competition in Estes Park, Colorado, which resulted in his first solo album at age 17. "On A Mission" is his newest project.
Ed has performed with nationally known artists such as Phillips, Craig & Dean, 4Him, and Bob Carlisle as well as his childhood musical hero, Dave Boyer. In addition to his music ministry, Ed has authored some 100 humorous articles on family life for magazines and newspapers across the country. Ed and his wife, Jenn, are Wheaton College graduates and the proud parents of three children.
