Elephant in the Living Room is a group of 16 year old high school students who try to hide their age by creating original and pleasurable music. The band's main goal is to achieve their own sound. The first full length debut, entitled "We Speak", is a culmination of one year of songwriting in an effort to achieve that goal.
Elephant in the Living Room is gaining fans in the Cleveland metropolitan area. The band has appeared at many notable Cleveland venues, including The Grog Shop, The Agora, The Odeon, The Barking Spider, and others.
Influences include Modest Mouse, Pixies, Radiohead, Aloha, The Decemberists, Neutral Milk Hotel, Flaming Lips, Jaco Pastorius, Fugazi, Midlake, Band Of Horses, Sigur Ros, Sufjan Stevens, Wolf Parade, The Arcade Fire, The Sea and Cake, Built to Spill, Explosions in the Sky, Sonic Youth, Talking Heads, Andrew Bird, and Minus the Bear.
