when dorthy halonen was a teenage girl, she caught some american rock and roll bands at the friar's club in downtown toronto.

she was excited by bill haleys comets and heard their hits on chum radio.rock around the clock.

see ya later alligator,and shake,rattle and roll-mca- she didnt know it then but history was in the making for her future as a rock and roll mon,supporting her son ,sam hall and friends,writing and recording their first original album entitled'the catcher'it was suspossed to happen and it did.

she sent a copy of her son's band to caprice records in the usa-joey welz-ceo-, who also by chance was the pianist dorthy saw back in the 60s at the friar's club, from bill haleys comets-the same joey welz who loved the music of dorthy's son's group .electric soul. and signed them to a record deal.

when the name was discussed it stuck,for as you know,soul means feeling,and it doesnt just belong to black music and r&b,but also there is great feeling in white rock and roll.thats what you get in the original mix of electric soul/feeling of mystisim as listening to jim morrison being backed by rush with a little pearljam thrown in for good measure.
