Details:
Ellis Glover grew up in Falls Church, Virginia, part of a lively, hard-working family that still loves to gather for feasting, laughter and tales of past crimes and misdemeanors. The son of a charismatic storyteller, Ellis could always spin a family story into a manic stand-up routine that set the table roaring. With enough discipline and encouragement, he might have become a writer then if he hadn't daydreamed so fiercely about being a Beatle.

When one thing didn't lead to another, Ellis eventually found himself at Westminster School where, under the extraordinary mentorship of its founder, Jane Goll, he discovered the depth of his passion for creativity and the discipline to exercise it. He also took on increasing responsibilities for managing the school, working for 16 years as Mrs. Goll's assistant and the past 13 years as the Headmaster of Westminster School. Part of his labor there, and much of his love, was developing the drama program. Over the years, Ellis has produced and directed more than 75 student productions; and the plays' production values and the extraordinary performances he elicits from his young actors are renowned. He continues to direct groups of students in a Shakespeare play and a Broadway musical each year.

Ellis is an accomplished writer of poetry and short stories, and is currently working to complete a novel. A passionate listener and lover of music, Ellis learned to play the guitar and worked to develop his singing voice. Several years ago, intrigued by a songwriting contest, he began to write his own songs. The exciting results are to be heard on Not A Dark Ride, a CD collection produced in 2002. As the director of Muddy Vesture, Ellis also conceives the troupe's popular variety shows, authors the hilarious skits that form the backbone of their productions, and lead sings and plays guitar with the MV Band.
