Details:
Sammy Ensley, also known as "The Toothpick" on
North Georgia's most prominent AM radio chain, the
Wolfcreek Broadcasting Network, is a living definition
of the proverbial term, Jack of all trades. Not only
can he sell your goat, bass boat, lost dog, or bushel of
beans on his daily swap shop, he dj's a daily program of
bluegrass music as well as a program of modern country, The Can't Hardly Count Countdown.

Sammy's diversity in his musical interests began at
the early age of four. Although his earliest exposure to music had been mostly bluegrass, he instantly fell in love with the blues when his father was playing some old Jimmy Reed records one rainy Sunday. He asked his dad if he had "anymore of that kind of music," and became such a fan that he named his new pup "B.B." in honor of B.B. King.

As a member of the bluegrass band, Roots and Branches,
Sammy has gained a vast knowledge and respect for that
genre of music. Born as a local music television show (still playing in it's fourth year) Roots and Branches has played on the same bill as Del McCoury, the Seldom Scene, Tim O'brien, Doyle Lawson and many other great bluegrass bands.

Sammy is definitely unique. He has performed hip hop
with a 64 year old white woman and a reformed ex-Blood
gang member on the stage at Planet Hollywood in Las
Vegas as producer and member of his aunt's Hip Hop band,
RQR. During college he performed with bands of different
genres at venues from Asheville to Atlanta.

Almost serious, often hilarious, Sammy has compiled a
repertoire of diverse and original songs. His
diversity is very evident on his newest recording project, "Live in the Basement."
(The word "Live" in this case is used as a verb.)

Sammy is currently producing a bluegrass album for
Roots and Branches, and some solo projects for other great
artists. He is content and happy to live in the north
Georgia mountains where he continues to write, arrange, and record his own special eclectic music.

"Live in the Basement" has a songs for every person in
any mood, be it Banjo-driven Rap or Singer/Songwriter Rock. If you would like to hear something good 'n original get "Live in the Basement" today, and look forward to more great music from Sammy Ensley.
